| This sarod features 7 main strings, and features a tuning similar to that of sitar, the tonic however would be around B, instead of C#. The spiral pegs were added later as they are more efficient than the originals. |

The profile of this sarod is very slim, typical of older instrument, this particular having been built in the 1940's.

The shell of this sarod is made of of really tight grained teak, which is actually stained dark purple, however it was hard to get this to show up in the photos.
